First, fill out the submission form with information about your paper. Please, fill it out only once for each paper, and do not resubmit it. Contact the address below if you run into any difficulties. As the designated correspondence author, you will then receive a first e-mail message containing the paper ID. The information in the email will allow you to submit your paper. If you have some problems send your paper via this e-mail (please report your paper ID in the text of your mail AND the name of the conference). The conference staff will contact you only if the paper does not print properly or has other problems. You can change information about your paper, submit brief corrections, view an email trail, and even edit your personal information by following the link in the initial confirmation email.

The aim of the workshop will be to promote a discussion able to capture scientific and industrial interests among conference participants on adaptive and cooperative systems. When many humans and machines act together, they need to do it in a highly cooperative way. In order to be cooperative they need to be adaptive to guarantee a fluent task achievement. Such systems with higher levels of automation are extremely important to enhance safety and confidence of human operators. However, in spite of the recent progresses made in the field, there are still some dimensions neglected. For example, in the human-machine interaction research field, many of the researches concentrated on cognitive processes such as perception and attention with a lack in the study of high cognitive processes supporting central executive functions, as for example, workload or distraction. As a result, the potential of the Adaptive Cooperative human-machine systems (AdCos) result limited and the lack of compliance with human factors and safety regulation may force to simplify systems to make them certifiable without exploiting the real potential of the AdCos. Holides (Holistic Human factors and System design of Adaptive Cooperative Human-Machine Systems) is a project which aims to move forward, to research affordable means of compliance which enable to formalize adaptation strategies. A synergy of empirical (predictive human models) and model-based methodologies will aim to develop techniques and tools to formalize adaptation strategies at a global (many humans- many machines) and a local (HMI levels) in a coordinate way. We solicit both academic, research, and industrial contributions. We welcome technical papers presenting research and practical results, position papers addressing the pros and cons of specific proposals, such as those being discussed in the standard fora or in industry consortia, survey papers addressing the key problems and solutions on any of the above topics short papers on work in progress, and panel proposals. Industrial presentations are not subject to the format and content constraints of regular submissions. We expect short and long presentations that express industrial position and status. Tutorials on specific related topics and panels on challenging areas are encouraged. The topics suggested by the conference can be discussed in term of concepts, state of the art, research, standards, implementations, running experiments, applications, and industrial case studies. Authors are invited to submit complete unpublished papers, which are not under review in any other conference or journal in the following, but not limited to, topic areas. All topics are open to both research and industry contributions. Adaptive and cooperative systems INSTRUCTION FOR THE AUTHORS Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit extended versions to one of the IARIA Journals. FORMATS Only .pdf or .doc files will be accepted for paper submission. All received submissions will be acknowledged via an automated system. Final author manuscripts will be 8.5" x 11", not exceeding 6 pages; max 4 extra pages allowed at additional cost. The formatting instructions can be found on the Instructions page. Helpful information for paper formatting can be found on the here. Latex templates are also available. Slides-based contributions can use the corporate/university format and style. No more than 2 contributions per event are recommended, as each contribution must be separately registered and paid for. At least one author of each accepted paper must register to ensure that the paper will be included in the conference proceedings and in the digital library, or posted on the www.iaria.org (for slide-based contributions). The link below contains the details on how to upload the final version of your paper to the publisher. The upload should be done after registering your article via the Registration Form. Publication Site for HOLIDES 2015 Publication details are in the Call for Papers, namely "Final author manuscripts will be 8.5" x 11", not exceeding 6 pages; max 4 extra pages allowed at additional cost". The costs of additional pages are on the Registration Form. If you have any questions about the paper upload process, please contact the proceedings production editor, Mike.
Each accepted paper needs at least one full registration, before the camera-ready manuscript can be included in the proceedings. The student rate is the lowest registration rate listed in the registration form. One registration form covers the registration of the paper and the participation of one presenter. If an author has two (or more) accepted papers, each paper must be registered paid for with a separate form. Every participant must register separately: if two co-authors attend, each of them has to register Support letters for entry visa will only be issued to attendees who have successfully paid their registration fees in full.
Registration form: The registration form can be found here. Note: If you attend but do not have a paper to present, use paper number "guest" in the registration form.
