Due to recent developments in health care, health-care politics, and in demographic trends, we see a large potential, and importance, for technology to support people in self-management of health issues, and even more importantly, healthy living, i.e., use of persuasive technology to make exercise regular and fun, to make good food choices, to quantify self, etc. Due to the large stress on the health care systems, especially with elderly and chronically ill patients, self-management and digital tools to maintain the quality of care are incredibly important. But many questions arise: Is digital support well enough designed for a specific target group that it was intended for? Are people willing and able to use this technology? What are the consequences of using the technology for their disease and quality of life? How can people incorporate these technologies into their daily life practices? Our perspective is primarily user, or patient, centered. However, outstanding contributions from the perspective of the care professionals, or the informal care providers, are also of interest. How do patient-centered solutions affect work of care professionals? What does supportive technology mean for informal care providers and the crucial role they play in the current and future health care system? Topics:

Your paper should also comply with the additional editorial rules. Once you receive the notification of contribution acceptance, you will be provided by the publisher an online author kit with all the steps an author needs to follow to submit the final version. The author kits URL will be included in the letter of acceptance. We would recommend that you should not use too many extra pages, even if you can afford the extra fees. No more than 2 contributions per event are recommended, as each contribution must be separately registered and paid for. At least one author of each accepted paper must register to ensure that the paper will be included in the conference proceedings and in the digital library, or posted on the www.iaria.org (for slide-based contributions).

First, fill out the submission form with information about your paper. Please, fill it out only once for each paper, and do not resubmit it. Contact the address below if you run into any difficulties. As the designated correspondence author, you will then receive a first e-mail message containing the paper ID. The information in the email will allow you to submit your paper. If you have some problems send your paper via this e-mail (please report your paper ID in the text of your mail AND the name of the conference). The conference staff will contact you only if the paper does not print properly or has other problems. You can change information about your paper, submit brief corrections, view an email trail, and even edit your personal information by following the link in the initial confirmation email.

The link below contains the details on how to upload the final version of your paper to the publisher. The upload should be done after registering your article via the Registration Form. Each accepted paper needs at least one full registration, before the camera-ready manuscript can be included in the proceedings. The student rate is the lowest registration rate listed in the registration form. One registration form covers the registration of the paper and the participation of one presenter. If an author has two (or more) accepted papers, each paper must be registered paid for with a separate form.
