This symposium is part of INTELLI 2017.

Call for Papers:

Manufacturing companies are subject to constant changes in their operational environment, influenced by innovation, government, the economic and the environment. Being capable to respond to these changes demands for re-configurability, flexibility, adaptability and agility. Maximizing the benefit is no longer just about maximizing the performance, but needs to guarantee the sustainability of the system throughout its entire lifecycle. In order to respond to this context, modern manufacturing environments are driven by paradigms of computer science, which are not only present at design, planning and management levels but have already been transferred to the production systems and integrated into production lines. This includes agent-based paradigms or encapsulation of knowledge into sensors and machines turning them into smart components. The use of smart components at the production level generates huge amounts of data (big data) that needs to be processed into valuable information for the management levels. At the same time, new approaches try to use this "intelligence" available at the shop floor to make production more flexible, adaptive and resource-efficient.

The InManEnt 2017 symposium will be the stage where new production paradigms  and concepts, new knowledge-based approaches and lifecycle sustainability of production systems can be presented and discussed.

Topics:

New production paradigms and concepts
Life cycle sustainability of production systems
Cooperation and communication in manufacturing environments
New computing and knowledge paradigms in manufacturing environments
Flexible manufacturing systems
Industrial robotics and intelligent manufacturing
Adaptive production
Self-adapting production lines
Situation-awareness and self-awareness
Planning and optimization of production systems and lines
Knowledge acquisition and exploitation in manufacturing environments
Optimization and control of production systems and lines

FORMATS

Only .pdf or .doc files will be accepted for paper submission. All received submissions will be acknowledged via an automated system.

Final author manuscripts will be 8.5" x 11", not exceeding 6 pages; max 4 extra pages allowed at additional cost. The formatting instructions can be found on the Instructions page. Helpful information for paper formatting can be found on the here. Latex templates are also available.

Slides-based contributions can use the corporate/university format and style.

Your paper should also comply with the additional editorial rules.

Once you receive the notification of contribution acceptance, you will be provided by the publisher an online author kit with all the steps an author needs to follow to submit the final version. The author kits URL will be included in the letter of acceptance.

We would recommend that you should not use too many extra pages, even if you can afford the extra fees. No more than 2 contributions per event are recommended, as each contribution must be separately registered and paid for. At least one author of each accepted paper must register to ensure that the paper will be included in the conference proceedings and in the digital library, or posted on the www.iaria.org (for slide-based contributions).
