Dr. Dimitris Messinis

Dr. Dimitris Messinis is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at Philip Morris International R&D. Over the past 8 years, he has been highly involved in various types of experiences, including research, industry, non-profit, and leadership opportunities. Graduating from Mechanical Engineering in 2011, he joined ProtATonce as its first employee and worked there for 2 years, establishing the company as an advanced Systems Pharmacology solutions provider. In 2012, he founded and is still leading the non-profit organization Mindspace, aiming to make students entrepreneurial. In recognition of this, the U.S. Department of State selected him to attend IVLP, their most prestigious 1-month international exchange program. In 2016, he worked for 4 months at the Food & Drug Administration in Washington DC on a computational project to predict drug-induced cardiotoxicity. In 2018, he received his PhD in Systems Pharmacology from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He deeply enjoys learning new things, traveling, cooking, playing tennis, and playing music (bass guitar, drums, and piano).
