Dr. Emmanuel Stefanakis

Dr. Emmanuel Stefanakis is an Assistant Professor at Harokopio University of Athens in the Department of Geography. He holds a Dipl.Eng. (1992) in Surveying Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece; an M.Sc.E. degree (1994) in Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering from the University of New Brunswick, Canada; and a Ph.D. degree (1997) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece. Since 1992, he has been involved in several research projects funded mostly by the E.U. He has reviewed many articles for scientific journals and conferences, while he served as a member of Organizing, Program and Scientific committees in international conferences related to Geoinformatics. His main research interests include geographic information systems, spatial decision support systems, knowledge and database systems, spatial data infrastructures, cartography, geovisualization, and web technology.
