Dr. Frank Phillipson

Dr. Frank Phillipson holds a Master’s Degree (MSc) in Econometrics and Operations Research from VU University Amsterdam, a Professional Doctorate in Engineering (PDEng) from Delft University of Technology and a PhD  in Applied Mathematics from VU University Amsterdam.

From 1998 he was employed at KPN (Royal Dutch Telecom) Research, which became part of TNO in 2003. TNO is the organization for Applied Scientific Research in the Netherlands. Frank is currently working as senior scientist in the department 'Cyber Security and Robustness' of TNO. This department works on Secure ICT systems and networks in order to preserve the privacy, confidentiality, integrity and availability of information in several contexts and on the design of reliable and robust ICT networks and systems.

Frank is an expert in operations research techniques to optimize the structure and to provision reliable and robust telecommunication / ICT networks and processes. He works on projects for clients like KPN, Huawei, Ministries and on research collaboration projects with Universities.

Frank Phillipson is (co-) author of several papers and has supervised many Master's students working on their thesis at TNO.
