Dr. Kay Roemer
Dr. Kay Roemer is a senior researcher at the Institute for Pervasive Computing of ETH Zurich, where he leads a group of researchers investigating systems aspects of wireless sensor networks. Kay received his PhD from ETH Zurich in 2005 with a thesis on sensor networks and helped to shape the European research community in this area by organizing several influential workshops and a summer school on sensor networks. Before moving to Zurich, Kay studied computer science at the University of Frankfurt in Germany, where he co-founded the MICO open-source project, a leading middleware for distributed systems that is widely used in many large-scale and mission-critical commercial applications. He has co-authored two books on this topic.
