Dr. Mariusz Nowostawski
Dr. Mariusz Nowostawski (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nowostawski) is an Associate Professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He works with the AIMT department in Gjovik (http://www.ntnu.no/aimt) and collaborates with the CCIS (http://ccis.no) and NISLab (http://nislab.no) Previously, he worked at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand, in the Information Science department.
His main areas of expertise is blockchain technologies, cryptocurrencies, peer to peer systems and autonomous computing.
Mariusz has obtained his PhD for his work on Evolvable Virtual Machines. His main research interests were in self-organising systems, autonomous multi-agent systems and evolutionary computing. Previously, in New Zealand, he has thought networking and network security, and worked with digital forensics.
Currently, Mariusz teaches in the area of mobile application development, games, and software engineering. His research interests focus on cryptocurrencies, traceability of Bitcoin transactions, and scalability and sustainability of off-the-chain transaction systems. He focuses on scalability of blockchain technology, modelling socio-technical aspects of blockchain deployment and autonomous computing. He runs courses on Solidity, smart contracts and deployments of blockchains.
