Dr. Michael Gebhart

Dr. Michael Gebhart studied computer science at the University of Karlsruhe in Germany (2008) and did his PhD with focus on a quality-oriented design of services in service-oriented architectures (SOA) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (2011). As result of his PhD he identified measurable quality indicators to evaluate services within SOA regarding quality attributes, such as loose coupling and autonomy. As these quality attributes influence the achievement of strategic goals, such as a higher flexibility, easier maintainability, and lower costs of the IT, his work enables the systematic quality analysis of SOA regarding these goals.

After working as consultant for SOA and business process management (BPM), he started his own business Gebhart Quality Analysis (QA) 82. His company is specialized on the quality analysis and certification in the context of SOA and cloud (2012). As fundamental part of services offered Dr. Michael Gebhart analyzes the design of a current or planned SOA for identifying untapped potential. Furthermore, he conducts trainings about how to design service-oriented architectures in a systematic and engineer-like manner using languages, such as the Service oriented architecture Modeling Language (SoaML). Today, Gebhart Quality Analysis (QA) 82 is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and the European Union.

Besides, Dr. Michael Gebhart is researcher in the context of software engineering especially regarding service-oriented architectures and cloud. Furthermore, he is lecturer at various events and author of numerous research and industry-related articles.
