Prof. Dr. Pei-Yuan Qian

Dr. Pei-Yuan Qian, PhD in Marine Biology, is a full professor at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.  He was the founding Director of the Coastal Marine Laboratory, and the founding President of the Pacific Institutes of Marine Sciences which consists of 18 leading marine institutions in Pacific Rim.  As a well-known larval biologist and marine ecologist, he has published >250 SCI papers, delivered >40 plenary and keynote talks at international conferences, is serving as editor or editorial board member of 13 international journals.  He managed 79 research projects and discovered many non-toxic or low-toxic antifouling compounds patented in both USA and China.
