Dr. Sergio De Agostino
Dr. Sergio De Agostino is a Senior Lecturer at theComputer Science Department of Sapienza University of Rome. He received a Ph. D. in Computer Science from the same university in 1992. From 1990 to 1994 he was a visiting researcher and teaching assistant at Brandeis University, Waltham, MA, USA, where he received a Master of Arts in Computer Science and realized his Ph. D. thesis. His main research interest is the study of the parallel computational complexity of lossless data compression methods and the design of practical compression algorithms for distributed systems. In 1994, he was hired as a Lecturer at the Computer Science Department of Sapienza University of Rome and tenured in 1997. He had a faculty position at the School of Computing of Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU), Savannah, Georgia, USA from 2000 to 2004, where he tenured as Associate Professor and was the Coordinator of the Master Program in Computer Science. He has more than fifty publications on international journals and proceedings.
