Tutorial 1: Audio signal processing for surveillance applications Abstract: Audio signals collected by means of appropriate microphones afford information that can be valuable for surveillance purposes, both isolated or in combination with video information. Here, we present how statistical signal processing can be used to design algorithms for automatic detection, classification and location of anomalous sounds (glass breaking, shooting, etc) that could be indicative of dangerous situations. Some theoretical aspects regarding the design of the algorithms will be considered, in combination with real data experiments and a simple demo. |
